EMPLOYER DESCRIPTION

Thirst Project is the world’s largest YOUTH water organization. We exist to educate students about the water crisis and mobilize them to fundraise to build water projects around the  world. Since 2008, our young people have raised tens of millions of dollars which go directly to funding thousands of clean water projects that have provided safe, clean water for life to more than 700,000 people in 13 countries. Thirst Project is able to maintain a 100% fundraising model thanks to its partnership with Legacy Youth Leadership. 

 

CONTRACTOR ROLE DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for the global water crisis. This Contractor will help us pick up & sort through our mail, process and deposit any donations received, perform data entry, and support a few administrative responsibilities related to donation reporting & expenses. This role will only work a few hours a week but will play a critical role in helping each department effectively function. Additionally, this role’s attention to detail will help any audits and future reporting be accurate and efficient. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Pick up & process mail three times a week
  • Depositing checks whenever received
  • Input donation information into Classy whenever received
  • Support submission of Monthly Expenses for team
  • Create and send donor acknowledgements / tax receipts when necessary
  • Pull data sets during Audit season 

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALITIES DESIRED 

 

  • Must have car & valid drivers license
  • Highly organized and willing to learn, be curious, and open to new challenges
  • Preferred previous non-profit / admin experience
  • Outstanding attention to detail from start to finish
  • Good judgment, versatility, flexibility, and a strong work ethic

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time 
  • Requires the ability to travel, collect mail, and deposit checks which will likely require use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations  
  • Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job
