JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for the global water crisis. Our Director of Marketing must be a team player in a highly collaborative and fast-paced working environment. We have loads of fun, but you gotta know when to get down to business. This individual can produce quality content under strict deadlines. This individual will be responsible for getting as many eyeballs as possible on the Thirst Project brand & mission as well as to find creative ways to convert those eyes to join the fight for clean water.
It is the Marketing department’s responsibility to identify our online audience, cater digestible and delicious content to this audience, and get as many eyeballs to see it as possible! The Marketing Manager and the President of Domestic Operations work as a power combo to meet all of Thirst Project’s creative content needs. The Director of Marketing serves as the voice of Thirst Project, curating all digital content. This individual will also manage relationships with all external agencies & artisans including our Public Relations and any creatives that you might work with. The Marketing department is also responsible for the creative direction, design, and promotion of Thirst Project merchandise.
Most importantly, you’ve gotta love young people and know what young people love. We exist to serve young people, mainly students, so you must be with it on all of the latest trends or algorithm updates. With that being said, we are looking for a rad Marketing Director who is a kick-butt social media guru and great communicator. This person must be equally stoked to help people get access to clean water!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage & oversee all owned channels and digital marketing intern(s). All marketing channels include but are not limited to: Social Media, Website, Public Relations, Email, SMS, brand messaging and story development, copywriting, partnerships and collaborations.
- Manage all external agency relationships including web developers, Public Relations, talent/influencers, potential brand partners and other third parties.
- Manage all production needs of Thirst Project and network of artisans.
- Manage/assist in all events, specifically overseeing promo plans, production & A/V.
- Develop, oversee & execute a marketing calendar, strategies and programs that advance the key performance indicators of Thirst Project.
- Stay up to date on current marketing trends & advertisements to best determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies.
- Work with both the Business Development and Education teams to develop engaging assets, implement successful strategies and run inspiring campaigns that attract new donors and students to our programs.
- Create and manage Thirst Project branded merchandise through our Printful & Shopify services.
- Anticipate industry trends and continually evaluate the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to help improve overall company performance.
EXPERIENCE/QUALITIES DESIRED
- 2-5 years or more of marketing experience including digital channel management
- Preferred (but not required) Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Youthful, FUN, highly relational, student leadership experience preferred
- Experience working with celebrities & large brands
- Highly organized and willing to learn, be curious, and open to new challenges
- Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels – a hands-on, team player
- Outstanding attention to detail from start to finish
- Good judgment, versatility, flexibility, and a strong work ethic
- Someone who is super creative and is willing to take risks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Requires the ability to sit and work at a desk for several hours at a time
- Requires the ability to travel and attend meetings, presentations, and events outside the office, which may require occasional use of a motor vehicle for transportation to other locations
- This position is required to be available to speak with clients and/or others while away from the office and/or with clients and/or others located in other time zones outside business hours
- Work may require occasional weekends and/or extended workdays
- Punctuality and satisfactory attendance are essential functions of the job
